Recovery Day 2021!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Vermont Recovery Day on February 17, 2021. We are so grateful to the recovery community for coming together strong this year – virtually on Zoom! We want to thank Vermont’s Recovery Centers and all of the recovery resources throughout the state for coming together to make this day so powerful.

Our morning started by hearing remarks from Governor Scott who declared February 17 as Recovery Day in Vermont. We then heard from Kelly Morrill (ADAP), Attorney General TJ Donovan,  Lt. Governor Molly Gray, Speaker of the House Jill Krowinski, and Senate President Pro Tempore Becca Balint, who spoke about the power of recovery and their support of the work Vermonters are doing.
Later in the morning, we watched a creative rendition of the Governor’s Proclamation from the Turning Point Center of Springfield, and heard from recovery resources throughout the state, including those in housing, employment, corrections, and Project CARE. Four writers from Writers for Recovery shared powerful pieces, and we presented awards for the Lifetime Achievement to Bill Keithcart, the Legislative Champion to Rep. John Killacky, and the Jack Barry Award for Communication to Ed Baker.
We are so inspired by the work the recovery community continues to do, day in and day out. Your stories, your strength, and your dedication to helping others – to lift others up – is truly inspirational. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The gratitude is boundless.
